The Business in a Box (BIZBOX) project, a partnership between the Mastercard Foundation and Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), was launched in the North Tongu District. The partnership has been formed within the Agency's mandate as the apex body to promote and develop Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Ghana, and the Foundation's vision for Ghana, which aimed to enable 3 million young women and women to access dignified and fulfilling work by 2030.
The project seeks to offer opportunities to young women and men in the areas of Agriculture and AgriBusiness to Entrepreneurship (Fisheries, Poultry, Piggery, Farm Services, Rice processing, livestock farming, etc.) and Apprenticeship to Entrepreneurship (hairdressing, dressmaking/tailoring/fashion designing, leather works, general electrical, barbering, makeup/cosmetology, etc.).
Provisions have been made for Skilled Craft Persons (SCPs) who own facilities/workshops and tools to train a minimum of three (3) apprentices. Applicants from all 16 Regions of Ghana are eligible to apply. With that, the Business in a Box (BIZBOX) Project in the North Tongu District was officially declared open, and all were encouraged to apply.
