The Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS) in partnership with the Ministries of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP), and Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development (MLD&RD), along with others, embarked on a coaching exercise in all sixteen (16) Regions in the country. The initiative aimed at providing guidance to the newly selected sixty (60) Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) across the country of which the North Tongu District (NTDA) is a part of.

Supported by the United Nations International Children Emergency Fund (UNICEF), the coaching exercise aimed to enhance the Integrated Social Services, ensuring a comprehensive delivery mechanism for social services. The training for the Social Welfare and Community Development (SW&CD) Officers of NTDA which took place on the 27th of February 2023 focused on the following topics: Case Management Standard Operation System (SOPs), Referral Pathways and Social Welfare Information System (SWIMS).

The training exercise was a successful one with officers ecstatic about putting to use these new interventions.
