Donation of items to persons living with disabilities in the North Tongu District

The Volta Region's North Tongu District has issued a warning to people with disabilities not to sell anything that might enable them to support themselves. Osborne Divine Fenu, the chief executive of the North Tongu District, issued the warning during the distribution of supplies to PWDs, which was planned by the district's social welfare office. Hon. Fenu pointed out that the assembly has received a number of complaints regarding how the beneficiaries sell the goods intended to be a source of income for them before approaching the department for assistance.
He claimed that the assembly has an effective monitoring staff to ensure that any things obtained are solely used for their specified uses. We probably have a team in place to oversee these people so they can utilize the products responsibly, but it's awful that the PWDs come for the items and swiftly sell them as soon as they leave the assembly, making life unbearable for them and their families. Hon. Fenu reaffirmed the government's dedication to always seeing to the needs of people with disabilities, adding that the state intends to include PWDs in its governance structure. But he advised people to continue having faith in the government because better times were yet to come. 30 PWDs received equipment such deep freezers, coolers, food for provision shops, grinding machines, and 30 wheelchairs for individuals who are unable to walk for the first round of this year's recipients.
