CAPACITY BUILDING/TRAINING REPORT ON LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICE PROTOCOLS (PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM)
The North Tongu District Assembly organized a training program for staff to refresh their skills in the Local Government Service Protocols (Performance Management System) in an effort to improve adherence to the protocols and improve the assembly's performance in national rankings. The training was delivered through a participatory learning approach, with a focus on practical issues affecting staff adherence to the PMS cycle. A total of 36 participants, including new entrants and staff from the agriculture and other departments, attended the training which was held on October 14th, 2022. The training covered topics such as Performance Standards, Service Delivery Standards, Performance Management System, Performance Management and Performance Appraisal, and Roles in Performance Management System. A pre-evaluation was conducted to establish gaps in the training area, and a post-evaluation was conducted to establish new levels of understanding of the PMS. 85% of participants indicated that the training was excellent or very good in helping them meet their expectations, and 60% and 20% rated the facilitation as excellent or very good, respectively.
