Presentation of Ambulance to NTDA

The Government of Ghana in a concerted effort to improve the healthcare system in the country, procured Ambulances for the two hundred and seventy-five (275) constituencies in the country to advance the country’s emergency response system. The Ambulances were presented to all districts in a ceremony held on 28th January, 2020. However, the presentation of the ambulance to the North Tongu District Assembly happened on the 31st of January, 2020 at the premises of the District Assembly.
The presentation was attended by the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Richard Collins Arku, the District Coordinating Director (DCD), Mr. Prosper Agbenyo, staff of the Assembly, Assembly Members and other distinguished guests.
Hon. Richard Collins Arku thanked the President for such a life-saving project and applauded him for the commitment shown in ensuring the realization of an effective emergency medical service system to help improve Ghana’s emergency response. He added that, North Tongu District is the only district which is getting two ambulances due to its vast land size.
However, the additional ambulance will be given to the Assembly when all the necessary preparations have been made to safeguard the vehicle and the workers. Thus, the ambulance will be working day and night hence, accommodation and office should be provided before it arrives. He then proceeded to introduce the Emergency Transport Attendants (ETA) under the National Ambulance Service consisting of a driver and three other officers for the district.
Fitted with the state-of-the-art life support equipment and tracking devices, the vehicle was then inspected by the DCE and the audience led by the Senior Emergency Transport Attendant.
Closing the presentation, the DCE thanked the ETA’s and the audience for gracing the occasion and entreated all to maintain the Ambulance effectively to serve the good people of the district.
