On Thursday 25th of March 2021, a Budget Committee meeting was held by the North Tongu District Assembly to equip Heads of Department on the preparation of 2021 departmental workplan and cashflow and finalization of 2021 revenue improvement action plan. At the meeting was the District Chief Executive, Hon. Richard Collins Arku, The District Coordinating Director for North Tongu, Mr. Awal Suhunyini and all Heads of Departments and Agencies of the district.

The preparation of the cash plan template was to help departments and agencies of the District Assembly know the cash requirements they need on quarterly bases to undertake their activities. The revenue of the Assembly indicates that, Internally Generated Revenue (IGF) fell in 2020 mainly because of Covid-19 and the Western Togoland Attack on the District which brought most activities to a halt for some months. A new revenue action plan for 2021 was presented to members.

Members discussed on length how to improve the revenue mobilization of the district after which Heads of Department/Agencies where tasked to submit their cash plans on time to improve the implementation of their activities for 2021.

The Chairman at the end of the committee meeting was sure of the major improvements with the introduction of the cash plan concept and advocated for a little sacrifice from members to achieve their work goals.
