On the 11th of June 2021 , Government directed the celebration of Green Ghana day to encourage tree planting to make the country green and further promote climate change activies.
Eight thousand seedlings were supplied to the district through the Forest services division. Out of this the district received 1500 seedlings whilst the rest will be sent in due course. The Didtrict celebrated the day by planting trees around the office premises. Other trees were also sent to the Juapon area for planting around public places like schools, health facilities, churches,mosques,markets amongst others.
The Hon DCE in his address to all stakeholders stressed on the importance of tree planting and encouraged everyone to be a part of the exercise and also be commited to caring for the seedlings after they have been planted.
