As part of measures to facilitate smooth learning in the various schools in the North Tongu district, On the 22nd of July 2021, a total number of seven hundred and fifty  desks and chairs were presented to selected Junior and Senior High schools. Present at the short ceremony were the Hon District Chief Executive, Richard Collins Arku, The District Director of Education, Mrs Isabella Regina Ayimey, Headmasters,teachers and students representing the selected schools and some District Assembly staff.

 In his presentation address, the DCE mentioned that the desks were procured with the help of funds given to the assembly through the DPAT programme because of the Assemblys high performance and response to undertaking developmental projects over the years. He talked about the importance of students having a sound learning environment and believed that the introduction of these new furniture would help in facilitating that. He further urged the representatives from the various schools to be good stewards of the items they had received.

The District Director of Education also in her address said that the children are the future leaders of this country and was very happy about this initiative. She reiterated that the items be taken proper care of for the incoming generations to also be beneficiaries.

The various heads and representatives of schools expressed their profound gratitude to the Hon DCE and all stakeholders and pledged to put the items received to good use.
