On the 5th of November 2021, a ceremony was held at the Aveyime-Battor Senior High Technical School(ABAST) to swear in and inaugurate newly appointed Board of governors for the school.
The event which was chaired by Togbe Yakah II had in attendance the Volta Regional Director of Education, Madam Enyonam Afi Amafuga, the Hon. District Chief Executive, Divine Osborn K. Fenu, the District Director of Education, Madam Isabella Regina Ayimey and Stakeholders from Various Institutions.
The new board is reconstituted under the Educational Act of 1961 to control and advise the management of the school to perform their duties effectively. The Board is comprised of representatives from the District Assembly, Old Students, The Education Directorate, Traditional Council and PTA members. The new board was sworn in by Rev. Father Mathias King.
The Volta Regional Director of Education in her address congratulated both the old and new Board of governors and urged the New board to put in their best to see through the great Vision of ABAST. She also encouraged Staff to serve as great and worthy examples to students and also advised the students to marry their books and keep their eyes on the prize.
The Hon. DCE also congratulated the old and new board of Governors in his address and indicated his firm readiness to offer solutions to the myriad of challenges facing education in the district. He charged the New Board to work in collaboration with the Headmaster of the school in order to ensure that the school has all the resources it needs to achieve excellence.
In the acceptance speech by the new board members, a representative of the board ,Mr. Doe Agbenu said they were highly priveledged to be bestowed the honour and assured everyone present that the newly appointed board would carry on with the good work started by the outgone board to move the school forward to achieve all its goals.
